Position Description

Waterville, Maine: We seek a confident, upbeat Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a respected private practice in this popular college town 75 minutes from Portland. Practice alongside experienced providers serving a very loyal patient base, supported by an experienced clinical and administrative team.

NEW GRADUATES are encouraged to apply. You will start with a slower schedule with longer patient visits and plenty of mentoring so you can establish yourself and ramp up in volume over time.

This practice provides care to many families, so you will use your full spectrum skills in pediatrics, adult medicine and seniors/geriatrics. Some providers here offer nursing home coverage and home visits – this is optional. Over time, you can develop a practice that includes your interests – such things as dermatology, family planning, outpatient procedures, etc.

The practice is housed in a newly renovated building in Waterville’s historic, revitalized downtown. Providers share two big offices, with a convenient lab onsite. Enjoy a neighborhood that features a city park and several restaurants within easy walking distance.

Experienced providers see an average of 16 patients/day, allowing time for you to provide exceptional, comprehensive care and develop deep relationships. Enjoy a 4 day/week schedule (40 hours total including 32 patient contact hours). A shorter part time schedule is available if preferred. Call is handled by phone only and averages one night/week (average 1-2 calls) and one weekend/month (average 5-10 calls). Become part of a happy team sharing the goals of patient health and satisfaction along with high team morale and a great work/life balance.

You will earn a competitive salary plus benefits including relocation assistance, health insurance, disability insurance, liability insurance and more. Full time practitioners enjoy 4 weeks of paid time off for vacations and CME (expense budget provided). Assistance with medical education debt is also available. Details will be shared with qualified candidates.

Waterville is a dynamic community of 16,000 people on the scenic Kennebec River in central Maine. Home to Colby and Thomas Colleges, you will enjoy all the amenities (dining, shopping, entertainment and more) that serve students and faculty. This region features many lakes and rivers, so waterfront homes are available. In-town living includes single family homes in welcoming neighborhoods and chic condos in renovated riverfront factories.

Maine is the #2 State for Best Quality of Life, and the #3 Safest State in the USA. You will find a wide range of recreation in every season. Enjoy golf, fishing, biking and hiking, excellent skiing – even whitewater rafting! Winter offers exciting skiing and snowboarding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and more.

In 90 minutes or less, you can be on a seacoast harbor or beaches, or your pick of mountains for hiking or skiing, or to the larger cities of Portland and Bangor. Portland has a very active social scene plus resources such as the International Jetport, 4 semi-pro sports, museums and theaters, a symphony orchestra and more. Maine’s capital, Augusta, is just 20 minutes from Waterville. They have a thriving shopping and restaurant district. Bangor is home to 100,000 people plus another international airport, malls and theatres, dozens of restaurants, a children’s museum, a casino/hotel, summer concerts and music festivals on the riverfront, and more. Waterville is central to all of it.

Please contact us today to learn more about this wonderful practice. They are ready to hire!
