Position Description

Bangor, Maine: We invite a sharp PEDIATRIC Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a popular practice operated by Maine’s largest FQHC/community health center in Maine’s third largest city. This respected group has a 30+ year history and recently moved to a newly refurbished, expanded pediatrics-only medical arts building with a smart design, and comfortable facilities for patients and providers alike.

This outpatient practice offers 7 day/week care for infants, children, adolescents, teens and young adults. Families appreciate the 24-hour pediatrician coverage. In addition, this nonprofit supports programs in family therapy, foster care pediatrics, neonatal abstinence syndrome and more. Join a team with over a dozen physicians, mental health specialists and advanced practice providers. All services are provided in a patient-centered manner that promotes access and quality care and prioritizes positive outcomes for patients and colleagues.

CONFIDENT NEW GRADUATES are encouraged to apply. You will be impressed by the support provided. This is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

In a “Same Day Care” provider role you will see an interesting mix of patients and cases with people who arrange to be seen quickly (cannot wait to see their primary care provider) – though not on a “walk-in” basis. Your priority is to deliver acute care within 24-48 hours of a patient call. You will see urgent care type visits, acute illnesses, newborn weight checks and more – treating the patients while educating and providing reassurance to the parents. Other encounters will be for primary care, chronic issues, well-visits/physicals, etc. You will not have your own patient panel – you will collaborate with and support other providers, including seeing their patients during vacations or absences. When you do not have patients, you will help with desktop management, referrals, follow ups, etc.

Schedules are flexible – you can choose a 4 or 5 day workweek (40 hours). When it’s your turn to work weekend shifts, you will earn additional pay.

This position offers a very competitive salary (with regularly scheduled increases) plus a cash sign-on bonus and benefits including relocation assistance, paid federal liability insurance, health and dental insurance, paid holidays, a generous amount of paid time off for vacations and sick leave, more paid leave with a budget for your CME, and assistance with your medical education debt.
