Position Description

Augusta, Maine: A respected 190 bed regional medical center seeks a full time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join an established outpatient RHEUMATOLOGY practice on the hospital campus, just 50 minutes from Portland. This is a hospital employed position supporting an experienced Rheumatologist who provides care to patients in Augusta and Waterville as part of a collegial team dedicated to high quality, patient centered medicine.

 

This physician-led nonprofit hospital is the area’s largest private employer and one of Maine’s leading healthcare systems, serving over 65,000 area residents. You will join a collaborative rheumatology group that includes one experienced Rheumatologist, a dedicated nurse manager, and experienced clinical staff. This is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

 

You will have a convenient 4 day/week schedule with no night or weekend call, providing a strong work/life balance. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive assessments, manage care for patients with rheumatologic conditions, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising Rheumatologist. Prior APP experience is required, and previous rheumatology experience is strongly preferred.
