Senate Bill 717 has passed in PA

Good Morning,
I am thrilled to report Senate Bill 717 authorizing Full Practice Authority for Pennsylvania NP's, passed the PA senate on 7/11 by a vote of 41-9.
According to Lorriane Bock, President of the Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners " This land mark decision marks the first time that the PA Senate has voted in favor of allowing nurse practitioners to offer patients the full extent of their education."
This bill will move on to the House of Representatives for a vote in the Fall. We can expect opponents of the bill to be incredibly active in their outreach to House legislators ...and we must be prepared to do the same.
I will keep you informed on the progress of the bill in the House of Representatives. Thank you to all the APRN's who wrote letters and reached out to the senators. Again congratulations PA NP's and have a wonderful week.
Terri
