Nursing Home Pneumonia Diagnosis & Management in the 21st Century

There is NO CHARGE for this program, however registration is required.
Purpose/Audience/Objectives:
This meeting will include an update on long-term care professional issues as well as a presentation on diagnosing and managing nursing home pneumonia.
All health care staff in post-acute and long-term care settings, medical directors, physicians managing long-term care patients, advanced practice professionals, nursing staff, nursing home administrators and non-PMDA members are welcome to attend.
- Discuss the role of resistant organisms as a cause of nursing home-associated pneumonia [NHAP]
- Provide a bedside approach to identify NHAP
- Distinguish aspiration pneumonia from aspiration pneumonitis
- Discuss the etiology of NHAP
- Review treatment options in the nursing home including duration of treatment
